Biostatistical Data Analysis Service

The results of the gene expression studies are compiled in a data package. The customized analysis and documentation contain the following points.

Biostatistical Review of Study Design prior to Implementation

SIRS-Lab develops study design and hypotheses concerning your demands and compatible with subsequent biostatistical examinations. The gene expression data is generated using tissue, cells, blood, or RNA. Cell culture experiments deliver further insights.
Statistical Analysis

1. Data normalization:

  • Linear vs. non-linear
  • Paired vs. grouped
  • Global vs. spiking controls / housekeeping genes

2. Gene-expression analysis:

  • Univariate vs. multivariate (including control of false positive tests)

3. Classification/grouping:

  • Descriptive statistics (PCA, clustering) vs. statistical inference

4. Statistical quality control

Use of R and Bioconductor Software Packages

SIRS-Lab develops own software packages. Further we use:

  • In-house implemented SLqPCR bioconductor package in public domain
  • In-house implemented SLmisc R package in public domain

Biostatistical Report

The final biostatistical report includes a detailed description of the procedure to ensure a transparent study. The biostatistical analysis is developed in line with the publication process. A customized pathway analysis completes the report.
