DNA Concentration for More Sensitive PCR

With the proprietary PUREPROVE® technology, SIRS-Lab developed a unique system for the specific binding of bacterial and fungal DNA and simultaneous reduction of human DNA background, as well as inhibitors. The technology reduces more than 90% of the eukaryotic (human) DNA from complex DNA mixtures.

Functionality

PUREPROVE® technology is based on the specific binding of non-methylated CpG present in DNA. Therefore, bacterial and fungal DNA can either be enriched until the detection limit is reached, or separated from mixes of eukaryotic (e.g. human) and prokaryotic DNA or from other components that inhibit subsequent detection.

This pre-analytical strategy influences the ratio of bacterial + fungal to eukaryotic DNA in favour of the first. As a result, nucleic acid-based amplification methods are improved in terms of sensitivity and specificity.

Application

PUREPROVE® is the heart of our DNA concentration system LOOXSTER®. Further the technology is included in the pathogen detection kit VYOO® to increase its sensitivity. The technology can be implemented in every application, where bacterial and fungal DNA must be concentrated from a mixed DNA background.

Contamination Control

PUREPROVE® is an effective tool in Quality Management. The technology detects bacterial contamination in various production processes and samples. Possible fields are environment engineering, food control, drug production, and many more.
