The Jena Sepsis Register (JSR) is a proprietary clinical data base corresponding extensive clinical documentation entries on a daily basis from critically ill patients. Overall, more than 14,000 fully documented ICU days from more than 2,000 patients are documented.
Background
Based on positive votes of the regional ethics committee and funded by the Thuringian Ministry of Science and Arts, the JSR was established in close cooperation with Europe's leading critical care departments. Further it was strongly supported by the Institute of Clinical Microbiology and Laboratory Medicine of the Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena.Monitoring
An independent team of study nurses and residents in Anesthesiology conducts the sample collection according to a prospective design. Two senior consultants act as supervisors. An independent ICU committee is in charge of the final evaluation of clinical diagnosis and scores.The data is disconnected from any personal information. Privacy issues are perfectly protected.
Performance
In a relational database system, every sample is linked to an extensive, daily documentation of clinical and lab findings, to patient history, primary indication, ICU & hospital outcome, etc. All clinical data entries pass through a strict quality control with plausibility tests to ensure equality and consistency of data entries, control and query.Available Sample Types
